Since 1965, Eagles Baseball has provided a successful competitive
environment to the youth within our territory. We compete in the
Arapahoe Youth League (AYL), and provide a complete baseball experience
in our AA division to youth ages 6 to 14. AYL is a geographically based
league, with 8 member clubs in the Denver Metro Area. AYL offers 4 different
levels of competition (discussed below) so that players can compete against
teams with similar levels of experience, ability, and commitment.
For its developmental baseball program, Eagles do not use drafts following
tryouts to assign players to teams. Existing teams from other leagues which
do use drafts/tryouts who want to continue to play together rather than
being broken up by a draft may do so through Eagles.
The AYL AA season, will consist of 14 league games, with a double elimination playoff, for a minimum of 16 games played April through June.
Season will end in Mid June with the World Series play at the end of June.
All teams at age 6 and up will play at the "AA" level.
At age 8 years old, a modified coach pitch will be played at the "AA" level, there will not be a coach pitch division.
Ages 9 through 13/14 all teams will be either AA National or AA American, American being the higher level of competition. Divisions may be broken down into North and South depending on the final number of teams.
s Day or Memorial Day weekend. In the event of game cancelations, makeup games WILL be played at the discretion of the AYL Baseball Board. There will be no bye requests for the AA National levels for any reason*. If your team can not make a game it will result in a forfeit.
* The following changes are for the AA American Division only! AA American teams will be allowed two (1) no play date weekends during the regular season only (Fri-Sun, not to exceed six (3) days) to allow them to participate in a tournament. It will be required to show your tournament entry fee paid receipt. Bye requests will not be granted during the post season or World Series. The teams playing in this Division may be required to play a few weeknight games to allow for this change.
At the conclusion of the 14 league games, ALL TEAMS will be seeded for the double elimination playoffs. Teams will play until they have lost two (2) games. Playoff games will begin Mid June with the World Series played late June at the (TBD) complex.
The World Series will be a single game championship game. Therefore, the undefeated team representing the winner’s bracket in the World Series game does not need to lose twice to be eliminated.
The AYL will conduct two USSSA tournaments. The first tournament is the AYL USSSA Spring Blast tournament that will be played beginning of April. The second tournament is the AYL USSSA Cinco de Mayo tournament that will be played in May. AA American teams are encouraged to register, please ask your club representative for more details.
